preload Borderlands 3 Epic Games Store

You Won’t be Able to Preload Borderlands 3 on PC Thanks to the Epic Games Store

Borderlands 3 is probably the most anticipated game for the remainder of 2018 and when the game launches on 13 September, fans will want to jump as soon as humanly possible. Everything about the game just sounds absolutely fantastic, except that Borderlands 3 on PC is an Epic Games Store timed-exclusive. Some PC gamers just refuse to use the Epic Games Store and although I haven’t had any issues personally, Borderlands 3 might just change that. PC gamers won’t be able to preload Borderlands 3 on the Epic Games Store and for South Africans who plan on playing the game on PC, that might be a hard pill to swallow.

Not everyone has access to a fast internet connection or a stable one, so having to download the entire game while others are already playing can be frustrating, to say the least.

Preload functionality for the Epic Games Store has been listed as a live feature since May 2018, but Borderlands 3 on PC won’t have that functionality. Epic Games’ CEO, Tim Sweeney, confirmed as much on Twitter, answering a fan question.

Mr Sweeney further mentions that the Borderlands 3 preload situation is complicated, explaining that:

While PS4 and Xbox One owners enjoy Borderlands 3 on launch day, PC gamers will have to wait for their download to finish. If you are still on a slower internet connection, it might take days, which won’t sit well with many PC gamers out there.
