The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is the latest PlayStation exclusive game to make its way to PC. The game will launch in April, but if you’re in a country where PlayStation Network accounts aren’t available, you won’t be able to pick the game up.
That’s because Sony has decided that despite the lack of multiplayer and online features in The Last of Us Part 2, the Steam and Epic Games version of the game requires a PlayStation Network account in order to play it.
This has proven to be quite an unpopular decision with gamers, so it isn’t clear why Sony is going this route for a single-player game. The company has come under fire in the past for the PSN account requirement. The feature rolled out first for Helldivers 2 before being scrapped due to the mass backlash. However, Sony hasn’t held back on future titles since Helldivers 2.
Ghost of Tsushima, God of War Ragnarök, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered all launched with the PSN account requirement. Again, these games are single-player titles, so there really shouldn’t be a need for the account. Not only do PC gamers hate having to link the account, but the requirement prevents these games from launching in over a dozen countries.
The Last of Us Part 2 is expected to launch on 3 April for PC. You can check it out on Steam here.
