YouTube is laying off 100 staff members as Google continues to cut jobs across the company. The search engine giant announced last week that it would be cutting over 1,000 jobs across various divisions. The layoffs also came with very little explanation from the company.
Google has since cut hundreds of jobs across its advertising division. The latest YouTube job cuts seem to be a bit less ruthless. The company is offering some employees the opportunity to find new positions within Google. However, staff aren’t guaranteed a job.

The latest job cuts are directly impacting YouTube’s creator partnership team. There are also a few job cuts taking place at YouTube Music and some YouTube Support members are also being let go. The company says the layoffs come as various divisions are being reorganized. Job cuts are affecting YouTube across the globe and these layoffs aren’t central to the United States.
In 2023, the tech and gaming industry was hit with over 12,000 job cuts and we fear the year ahead may bring its own fair share of job losses too.
