Nintendo Switch 2 USE THIS ONE

YouTube is Working to Add its App to Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 launched last week but some might’ve been disappointed to discover that the popular YouTube app was missing. The app was available on the original Switch but it seems like YouTube might need a little more time to bring it over to the Switch 2. Google has now confirmed that the YouTube app is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 “soon.”

The YouTube app is actually available in the Nintendo eShop, though it seems to be exclusive to the original Switch. Unfortunately, Switch 2 users can’t access the app as of writing. Some have already reached out to the company on social media to ask for an update. YouTube’s social media accounts responded this week, confirming that the YouTube app is currently being worked on for the Nintendo Switch 2 and will arrive in due time, possibly via an update.

“We’re working with Nintendo to make YouTube available on the Switch 2 soon,” said the official YouTube social media account. The company didn’t give users an exact date or time when it will arrive so Switch 2 owners will have to sit tight for now. If you remember, the YouTube app didn’t launch on the original Switch until a year into the last-gen console’s life cycle.

It’s unclear why the YouTube app isn’t currently compatible with the Switch 2 but users probably won’t have to wait too long for it to arrive on the new system. In the meantime, users will likely have to find other ways to enjoy their YouTube content on the go. If you’re linking your old Switch console with the Switch 2, we’ve got a handy guide on how to do that.

In related news, the Nintendo Switch 2 has now become the most-sold gaming console ever in a 24-hour period. According to recent reports, the Switch 2 sold 3 million units in its first day, beating out the day one sales of the PS5.
