YouTuber Akidearest Announced for Comic Con Africa 2023

Comic Con Africa is set to make it big return in 2023 at the Johannesburg Convention Centre and with it comes plenty of opportunities to meet with local and international celebrity guests and talents from across the globe. Months ahead of the event, the organisers of Comic Con Africa have officially unveiled the first international guest that will be attending the event this year: Akidearest, a prominent anime YouTuber, cosplayer and content creator.

Akidearest is a well-known name in the anime community on YouTube. Getting her start as a content creator and cosplayer, Akidearest quickly rose to fame due to her YouTube videos which discuss everything from cosplay and art to Japanese culture, manga and anime. Akidearest resides in Japan where she still frequently posts content on a weekly basis. As of writing, she has amassed over 2.8 million subscribers on her official YouTube channel.

Akidearest also frequently collaborates other anime content creators on YouTube including Ladybeard, CDawgVA and The Anime Man, among many others.

The official Comic Con Africa press release announcing Akidearest reads:

“Known for her passionate and insightful content, Akidearest has amassed a dedicated following of anime enthusiasts through her YouTube channel, where she discusses a wide range of anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture topics. Her engaging personality and deep knowledge of the industry have made her a beloved figure within the anime community.”

Akidearest is the first international guest officially announced for Comic Con Africa this year but you can expect more exciting announcements to drop in the coming weeks and months leading up to the event.
