Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Update Fixes Main Quest Bug But Not Item Duplication

Nintendo issued an update for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom this weekend to address a progression bug issue players were facing. The update, which takes the game to version 1.1.1 mainly fixes the quest “The Closed Door”.

Nintendo says that the patch also comes with other bug fixes and improvements but even the patch notes, which you can see down below, don’t really detail what these fixes and improvements include.

According to the game maker, the update should fix the issue preventing players from completing The Closed Door quest. After updating the game, you’ll now be able to complete the quest without issue and if you have already done so, it will automatically complete for you.

According to gamers online, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom patch 1.1.1 doesn’t fix the item duplication glitch in the game. Nintendo will likely patch this out in the days ahead to prevent players from ruining their experience by duplicating any item possible.

If you are interested to see how the item duplication glitch works, we covered it in detail here. If you want to use the exploit, be sure to disable automatic updates on the game in the meantime. Of course, you can update to 1.1.1 first to fix the quest progression bug.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom was released on 12 May for the Nintendo Switch and managed to sell 10 million copies within its first three days on the market. It is now the fastest-selling game in the history of the series. We reviewed the masterpiece calling it “the ceremonious journey of the decade”.
