Apple Releases iOS 12.3 With a Revamped TV App and Security Features

Apple just released iOS 12.3 for supported devices. If you own an iPhone from a 6S and up or an iPad from the Air 2, you will receive this new update.

iOS 12.3 introduces the new TV App which marks the beginning of Apple’s rollout for its Apple TV+ service. The service will see you pay a monthly fee to watch Apple’s original content with TV shows and movies being developed with the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Jennifer Aniston.

The most notable change in iOS 12.3 is the new TV App which has been completely revamped. For us South Africans, it is still extremely limited but the app now bears a similar design to the Apple TV experience whereas it has all your movies in one place. If you are not South African then this app will look a lot better including TV shows, resume points, and even an entire kids section.

AirPlay 2 is also included in the new iOS which allows you to send content to specific new Samsung TVs without having to own an Apple TV device. Apple also released a new tvOS with iOS 12.3 that includes the new TV App.

iOS 12.3 includes fixes to LTE and Wi-Fi calls being dropped which is an issue many iPhone owners have been facing for months now. Most important of all is no doubt the new security changes. Apple claims that new iOS has 23 new security updates that range from settings to mail and much more. If the TV App is not worth updating then the enhances security should be. iOS 12.3 comes in at around 500mb on both iPad and iPhone and is available now.
