Black Myth: Wukong PS Store Page Goes Live Suggesting Pre-Orders Soon

Black Myth: Wukong, the upcoming Soulslike action-RPG from Chinese developer Game Science, might be opening pre-orders soon after fans noticed that the game’s PS Store page went live yesterday. The game is currently set to release on 20 August 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Black Myth: Wukong leaker and Twitter/X user Lunatic Ignus recently pointed out that the PlayStation Store page went live yesterday, claiming that pre-orders will be opening as soon as this month. Considering that the game is about 5 months out from release, the timing makes sense. Game Science has yet to make an official announcement but with the PS Store page being updated, we won’t have to wait much longer for pre-orders to open.

Black Myth: Wukong takes inspiration from several Soulslike games including Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, though Game Science says it won’t be as challenging as the aforementioned titles but still packs a punch if you’re unfamiliar with that style of gameplay. It’s also largely based on the classical 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West, so hopefully that means no poison swamps.

Ahead of Gamescom last year, Black Myth‘s Steam and Epic Games Store pages went live. New gameplay was also revealed during Gamescom in 2023, showing off some impressive visuals and challenging combat. An official release date was also announced alongside the gameplay trailer.

The official description for the game reads:

“Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology. The story is based on Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. You shall set out as the Destined One to venture into the challenges and marvels ahead, to uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past.”

Black Myth: Wukong launches on 20 August 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
