Granblue Fantasy: Relink is expected to launch at the end of January. You can dive into a small portion of the game ahead of its launch thanks to a new demo going live on both PS4 and PS5 tomorrow.
The Granblue Fantasy: Relink demo was announced during the latest Relink Part 2 stream by Cygames. The studio hosted an hour-long stream where they detailed some new gameplay while also revealing boss fights and some new post-launch content.

According to Cygames, the Granblue Fantasy: Relink demo launches at midnight Japan time on 12 January. The demo includes the full tutorial mode where players can test out the combat moves for each of the playable characters in the game. This includes giving all 11 characters a test run before deciding on who you’ll play first.
The demo also comes with a small portion of the story mode. Cygames says this section has been taken directly out of the main game’s starting chapter. Here, you’ll get a good taste of the game’s story and how it all unfolds.
Lastly, the Granblue Fantasy: Relink demo will also include the Quest Mode. There are three available quests to take on. These can be played solo or with up to three friends. The studio says these quests offer a much more challenging experience than the story and will test your knowledge of the characters and the equipment. Speaking of equipment, you’ll be able to tweak and change loadouts in this mode too in order to fully test out the game’s gear system.
Players who complete the demo will also earn some in-game rewards for the main game. Cygames didn’t reveal what these rewards are during the stream.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink will then launch across two editions. There’s a physical standard edition and a physical deluxe edition. Sadly, this game isn’t getting any physical launch in South Africa. However, you’ll be able to pick up the digital edition instead. The’s a Standard Edition, Special Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition.
Each version comes with a range of extras including the in-game item set that packs the Captain’s Sword: False Sword of the Apocalypse and colour packs. These colour packs allow you to dye your character in different ways including hair, clothes and equipment. You can pre-order Granblue Fantasy: Relink for PS4 and PS5 here. The game is set to launch on 29 January for early access pre-orders and on 31 January for everyone else.
