Insomniac Games and Sony have revealed a brand new story trailer for the anticipated upcoming superhero game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Thanks to the new trailer, we have a lot of story details to digest including a closer look at the dynamics between the characters, the strain Peter Parker is putting on his closest friends with his symbiote abilities, a new look for MJ Watson and a first glimpse of Venom in action.
The story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 takes place some time after the events of Miles Morales. Peter is reconnecting with Harry Osborn, balancing his personal life with MJ and continuing to work alongside Miles in protecting the city. However, the sudden emergence of Kraven the Hunter throws everything into chaos while Peter adopts a new symbiote suit and powerful abilities. It looks like it will be a rollercoaster of emotions and another cinematic experience from Insomniac.
Most importantly, the trailer ends with a brief glimpse of Venom taking down a helicopter, showing the lethal protector’s faithful classic comic book design. Insomniac Games has been teasing the identity of Venom in all the marketing so far, though the ending of the first game might’ve already answered that question for us. Venom will be voiced by Candyman actor Tony Todd when the game drops this October.
The official description of the story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 provided by PlayStation reads:
“We’re going to heal the world. The Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, enter new chapters in their lives as they balance their responsibilities as protectors of Marvel’s New York. As Harry Osborne, Peter’s best friend, returns into his life, and Miles looks to build his future beyond high school, the relationship between our heroes is tested and strained as the Symbiote appears to threaten them, the city, and the ones they love.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on 20 October 2023 exclusively for PS5. Check out the new trailer below:
