Playground Games is hosting a special “second expansion” announcement stream later today where the studio plans on showcasing new content headed to Forza Horizon 5. The stream will kick off today, Thursday 23 February at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET/5 pm GMT / 19:00 CAT.
According to the tease, the showcase will reveal the “next nig thing from the Horizon Festival in Mexico”. At the moment there is very little else to go on.

The first Forza Horizon 5 expansion was Hot Wheels and released in July 2022. The expansion turned the open world into a toybox of Hot Wheels objects and vehicles. It included 10 new vehicles, ramps, new objective-based races and more. The expansion also lets players design their own Hot Wheels tracks using over 80 pieces of track.
If the first expansion is anything to go by, this one is going to be even more exciting. We just don’t know where Playground Games will take the game from here.
Keep in mind that all previous Forza Horizon games, except the first one, had two expansions. The LEGO expansion in Forza Horizon 4 was likely the best in the series. However, in Forza Horizon 3, the game got a whole new Blizzard Mountain biome to race on. It was followed up by Fortune Island in Forza Horizon 4.
If anything, this new Forza Horizon 5 Expansion might be a new location. Previous games all had a content drop and then a new area was added to them. Time will tell.
