Xbox Games Showcase June 2023 Starfield Direct

Next Xbox Games Showcase Confirmed For June

Microsoft has announced its next Xbox Games Showcase set to take place on Sunday, 11 June 2023. The event’s announcement arrives at the same time that Bethesda announced its plans to host a Starfield Direct after confirming the sci-fi RPG’s delayed new release date of 6 September.

“Join us for #StarfieldDirect following the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, June 11,” said Microsoft in a new post. Fans can look forward to the Starfield Direct which will take place after the Xbox Games Showcase. Microsoft held a Developer_Direct event earlier this year featuring a release date and gameplay for Arkane’s Redfall as well as updates on The Elder Scrolls Online, Minecraft Legends and Forza Motorsport, which is also due to release later this year.

When pressed about potential reveals at the Xbox Games Showcase in a recent Xbox On interview, boss Phil Spencer teased that there might be some surprises in store for fans:

“So, a lot of our focus right now is on the showcase in June, but there’s some news that’s coming out. Like, you know, like we did the GoldenEye [announcement], I’m thinking like, you know, GoldenEye type announces. So, there’ll be games available in different services. Obviously, the Game Pass portfolio continues to grow, but most of our focus as a team is really on getting ready for the showcase.”

Beyond 2023’s exclusives for Xbox, there are a number of first-party games that have yet to receive updates. Playground Games is busy working on the Fable reboot while Obsidian Entertainment is working on both its fantasy RPG, Avowed, as well as The Outer Worlds 2. Ninja Theory is also hard at work on Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. According to a recent report, we’ll see Avowed and Hellblade 2 a lot sooner than we think, possibly set to release in 2024.

Don’t miss the Xbox Games Showcase on 11 June 2023.
