A Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story tells an important story of anxiety and how people often are overcome by the pressures of today’s world. Sure, it showcases the life of Miles Morales who is not only a superhero but also a student trying to get good grades and juggle the normal responsibilities of young adult life but the message is somewhat relatable.
The film has been put together as a tribute to the ongoing Spider-Verse saga and seemingly takes place during the first film. It has been directed by Jarelle Dampier and written by Khaila Amazan. It touches on Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) as he fights a literal embodiment of all the anxieties he’s been dealing with.
These feelings are a combination of dealing with his grades, secretly working as a superhero and of course, hiding his double life from his family and friends. Especially his father, Jefferson (Brian Tyree Henry).
The short film is available on YouTube and is around 7 minutes long. It in no way reveals any information regarding the third instalment in the series. The third film is currently in production at Sony Animation and details regarding the project are being kept a secret. However, we know it is going to be the second part of the second film which was divided into two. Why? Because of money.
