Last week we reported on the leaked free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone news. The game is said to be released in early March and will be free for all players regardless of owning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or not. The leak merged from someone Reddit and Activision wants his or her head. Well, not really but the publisher is determined on catching the person who leaked the information. So much so that Activision has even subpoenaed Reddit to uncover the identity of the Reddit user that leaked the artwork.

Leaking video games is nothing new especially when it comes to Call of Duty. Last week the artwork and details of Call of Duty: Warzone leaked and even actual gameplay footage. However, Activision has been working hard to pull the leaks down and take legal action against the users for publishing the content. TheGamingRevoYT was issued with a copyright claim and had his YouTube channel closed for posting the leaked video. Activision has even gone as far as closing down Twitter threads where the leaked Call of Duty: Warzone has been mentioned.
According to court documents obtained by TorrentFreak, Activision has spent the last week actively subpoenaing Reddit to uncover the identity of the user who leaked the initial Warzone artwork.

Activision believes the “content” mentioned on a Reddit thread that is related to Call of Duty “infringes exclusive rights under copyright law”. TorrentFreak points out that the thread did not infringe on any content and simply posted an external link to a site that hosted the leaked cover image.
Activision is going off the rails a bit about this whole story. Leaks happen and you cannot pull down a whole Reddit thread and force the platform to reveal private details of uploaders because the shared a cover image of your game. It is getting out of control now.
