We are just a few hours away from the Apple iPhone 15 event. Tomorrow night, Apple will host its September event and showcase its new iPhone range, new Apple Watches and more. While every year marks an exciting time for Apple fans, this year is a little bit more special. Apple is expected to announce its first-ever iPhone with USB-C as the company finally ditches its proprietary Lightning charger and submits to the European Commission.
Apart from that, Apple will also debut the iPhone 15 range. The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature the company’s Dynamic Island which was introduced in last year’s iPhone 14 Pro lineup. As for this year’s iPhone 15 Pro, Apple is sitting on a new redesign for the phone. The company will ditch the stainless steel frame in favour of a new titanium frame.

The iPhone 15 Pro is also expected to have a more repairable body similar to last year’s iPhone 14 range which was divided into two manufactured parts for easy disassembly. We can also expect thinner bezels and an A17 chip.
Apple will introduce a new Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro which will replace the mute toggle. It will allow you to assign shortcuts to different apps and utilities. The “Max” version is also expected to get a periscope lens with up to 6x optical zoom.
Apple has also reportedly dropped the gold iPhone Pro model in favour of a titan grey and dark blue shell. The standard iPhone 15 is expected to launch with a new pink colour.
As for the Apple Watch Series 9, it isn’t getting a major upgrade this year. Reports claim Apple will bump up the chip to the new S9 processor. This will improve performance and battery life. Apple is also expected to introduce an improved heart rate sensor. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 will also get these upgrades as well as a new titan grey colour model.
Apple will also move all of its audio accessories to USB C. We are expected to see a new AirPods and AirPods Pro with USB C. We don’t know yet whether this move will be a simple charging case upgrade or include new features. However, don’t expect a new set of AirPods Max. Reports claim a USB-C version will only be announced next year.
Last but not least, we’ll also get more information on iOS 17, macOS Sonoma and other software updates.
