Apple Will Announce The iPhone 15 Lineup on 12 September

Apple has officially dated its September iPhone event. The showcase will take place on 12 September at the usual time – 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 19:00 CAT. The event named “Wanderlust” will play host to the iPhone 15 lineup and other hardware announcements including a new Apple Watch refresh, AirPods with USB-C and more.

While the announcement will include the already-leaked iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro range, it will also debut changes Apple has made to the phones including the switch to USB-C.

We know that Apple has been legally bound to move to USB C this year after the European Union imposed regulations on the company for using its own Lightning connector on its technology. The iPhone 15 event will introduce USB-C on the range as Apple officially bids farewell to Lightning.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus reportedly include a USB 2.0 speed connector while the iPhone 15 Pro range has a higher-speed 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 connector. However, while the non-Pro phones have slower transfer rates, they all support 35W charging.

Apple is also expected to add Dynamic Island to the entire iPhone 15 lineup this year. The feature was introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro range. The company will also introduce a redesigned iPhone 15 Pro with a new titanium frame, thinner bezels and a price increase.

The iPhone 15 Pro is also introducing users to a new so-called “Action Button” which will replace the mute toggle. Users can assign shortcuts to different apps and utilities on the button. The iPhone 15 Pro Max might also get rebranded to the “Ultra” and include a periscope lens with up to 6x optical zoom.

Apple is also ditching the gold iPhone this year and introducing a titan tray and dark blue model in the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. According to users, the event invitation gives us a better look at the colour of the iPhone 15 Pro range. The particle effects are titanium powder and the different shades of grey and blue hint at the different models you’ll be able to pick up.

Of course, Apple will also share more on iOS 17 and showcase the upcoming software running on the new iPhones.
