Assassin’s Creed Mirage Photo Mode Confirmed

Ubisoft has confirmed that its anticipated upcoming stealth action game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, will include a photo mode. The feature has been present in almost every AAA game released in the last few years and has become a requirement for many players who enjoy taking scenic shots while in the middle of gameplay.

Speaking in a recent Reddit AMA, Ubisoft’s Jean-Luc Sala revealed more details about what players can expect in the photo mode for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Sala says that players will have “a lot of opportunities” to use the game’s photo mode, especially for those who want to experience the “visually stunning” backdrop of 9th-century Baghdad. “You can also try to photo safari the now extinct Arabian Ostriches,” said Sala.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage‘s photo mode is no different to the one implemented in Valhalla, only this time it will come with the option to toggle a nostalgic AC1 filter. Not only will this filter be available in photo mode, it can also be toggled on during gameplay so you can play through the whole game if you want it to feel like classic Assassin’s Creed.

Elsewhere in the AMA, Ubisoft also confirmed that players will find out why protagonist Basim, who was first introduced in Valhalla, didn’t have an eagle in that game despite being shown with one in recent gameplay for Mirage as well as having Eagle Vision.

The official description for Assassin’s Creed Mirage reads:

“Experience the story of Basim, a cunning street thief with nightmarish visions, seeking answers and justice as he navigates the bustling streets of ninth-century Baghdad. Through a mysterious, ancient organization known as the Hidden Ones, he will become a deadly Master Assassin and change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.”

Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches on 12 October 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
