With everything that went on with Cyberpunk 2077 around its launch, many people might have forgotten that Netflix announced a Cyberpunk anime which was initially meant to launch last year. However, given the current state of the world and how many delays we have dealt with, like the game, this anime was never released on time either. We finally have the first trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – the anime.
The show has been created by studio Trigger and is expected to release as a 10-episode standalone story. The trailer doesn’t give us much idea of what’s going on in the show but it is filled with some blood, robots and a killer soundtrack.

According to the official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners synopsis, the show will touch on everything we know about the game and world:
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology- and body-modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners also has some incredible anime talent behind it including director Hiroyuki Imaishi, writers Masahiko Otsuka and Yoshiki Usa, character designer Yoh Yoshinari, and composer Akira Yamaoka. The show is expected to release in September this year with all the episodes available at once.
