BioWare has shared something special for Dragon Age fans to celebrate Dragon Age Day 2023. We have received our first official look at some of the in-game locations in the upcoming RPG. The teaser trailer isn’t the most detailed but it does give us a closer look at some of the regions in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf alongside actual in-game renders.
We first get a look at Antiva. This kingdom is a large city-like landscape protected by The Crows of Antiva. The area is vast with buildings and small houses scattered around the walls. There’s also a fairly large castle to the right-hand side which will likely play a major role in the game.

Next, we have Rivain. This coastal paradise is surrounded by clear blue seas and seemingly includes caves and coastal areas to explore. Rivain is the capital city of Dairsmuid and resides next to Antiva. The Rivians have been mentioned in previous Dragon Age lore but the location has never been included in any previous game.
Next up we have Weisshaupt. This is, of course, the headquarters of the Grey Wardens. While the Grey Wardens have played a major role in previous Dragon Age games and content, Weisshaupt has remained a mystery. It is a desert-like area but the trailer shows a wet and stormy location so perhaps whatever is going on in the game has caused some strange weather phenomenon.
The trailer ends with the Dreadwolf saying “All the world will soon enjoy the peace and comfort of my reign”. There’s a subtle growling sound right after the line too. Goosebumps!!
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf likely includes a number of more locations but at the moment, this is what we have to work with. The game is set shortly after the events of Dragon Age Inquisition, or more so the Trespasser DLC. It is set in Tevinter Imperium.
BioWare has confirmed that the full reveal for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will take place in “summer 2024”. That’s June – August for those who have enough brain power to date things with actual dates.
