Insomniac Games is working on a new multiplayer game. According to a new job listing at the company, the studio is hiring for a multiplayer project that will live alongside its current games including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine.
While details are scarce on the new project, the job listing is looking for someone who can manage a development team focused on multiplayer game building as well as implement the latest multiplayer technology and development practices.

Insomniac Games aren’t new to multiplayer games. While the studio hasn’t released one in a long time, the development team was once known for their great multiplayer modes across their single-player games. If anything, the studio released a handful of well-known multiplayer games back during the PlayStation 3 era. This included the original Resistance: Fall of Man and its sequel Resistance 2. The third game in the series didn’t have a multiplayer component.
Insomniac Games’ last multiplayer game was Sunset Overdrive which was released as an Xbox One and PC exclusive. Many believe that the studio might have rebooted the Resistance series after the company started tweeting numerous screenshots of the game. At the moment, we don’t know anything about the project but we can only hope it is related to the Resistance series.
PlayStation has recently shifted its focus across a number of its studios with many of them working on new live service games. Sony’s current lineup might look single-player focused at the moment but that might change in the future.
