Insurgency: Sandstorm Console Beta Sign-Ups Now Open

Insurgency: Sandstorm was announced way back in 2017 but only ever released on PC through Steam. However, developer New World has finally announced a closed beta test for consoles that will see players join the fight outside of the PC platform for the first time. Focus Home Entertainment shared the news through Twitter asking players to enlist in the test.

There are a few things you need to know about the Insurgency: Sandstorm console beta. For starters, the test is under embargo which means you need to agree to a Non-Disclosure Agreement before you can sign up for the phase. Focus Home Entertainment also says that players should provide a Discord Nickname to help speed up the process.

There are also no restrictions when it comes to regions and platforms. New World is currently hosting the beta across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. All users in all regions can sign up for the Insurgency: Sandstorm beta regardless of their country of origin.

While there are no dates mentioned on the site, the Twitter announcement does say the testing phase will take place soon so expect to get your code in the next few weeks.

For those who don’t know, Insurgency: Sandstorm is a first-person shooter with heavy inspiration drawn from games like CS: GO. The game recently recieved a free co-op survival mode too. This content update came with a new map, new weapons and cosmetics.

It is unclear whether or not this content will launch on the console when the game arrives. Considering Insurgency: Sandstorm released back in 2018 for PC, it is about damn time the developers are making a move to console.
