Until last night, I had no idea that Jim Carrey was starring in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie and I am quite excited about it now. A leaked photo of the comedy king was put online that revealed his role as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman and it looks like the role was made for him.
The image is nothing to write home about but it gives us a big enough glimpse at the character to see that Jim Carrey is no doubt a perfect fit for the film. The image shows Jim Carry in what looks like Eggman’s classic round vehicle with a perfect moustache and the iconic goggles strapped to his head.

According to leaks, two trailers were shown off at CinemaCon. One of them was entirely focused on Jim Carrey as Robotnik which revealed he is playing the character in what they are calling “late 90’s Jim Carrey Mode”. It is also important to know that even though Jim Carrey looks shaven and thin in the image, the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog film is one of many planned for the years ahead and Jim will grow into the Eggman character as we get into the films.
