Mortal Kombat 1 was announced last week as a reboot of the fighting game series and will include new and returning fighters. However, as WB Games usually does, the game won’t include everything at launch and you’ll need to spend a little more money to get the full package. It seems the publisher is locking out certain characters from the main game and will release them as DLC shortly after.
We know that Mortal Kombat 1 comes in three different editions. Two of the better game versions include what WB Games calls a Kombat Pack which unlocks six new playable characters and other features. While the publisher has yet to announce who these six characters are, they have seemingly leaked online through the game’s pre-order listing.

According to the Amazon Italy listing, the six extra DLC fighters include Quan Chi, Omni Man, Takeda, Peacemaker and Homelander.
Prior to the game’s reveal, reports claimed that Homelander and Peacemaker would both be in Mortal Kombat 1. It seems from the leak that those reports were correct.
At the moment WB Games has yet to officially announce the DLC characters in Mortal Kombat 1 but given the list above, this seems to be an accurate depiction of what you’ll get in the Kombat Pack. We do know that pre-orders include Shang Tsung as an in-game fighter. Pre-orders also unlock access to the beta which kicks off sometime in August.
Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on 19 September for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Early access starts on 14 September. The game aims to introduce a “reborn Mortal Kombat universe created by the Fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before”.
