New Mario Vs Donkey Kong Trailer Details New Levels and Features

Nintendo has released a new trailer for the upcoming Mario Vs Donkey Kong. The game is expected to launch on 16 February for the Nintendo Switch and is a direct remake of the original 2004 Game Boy Advance game.

In the trailer, we get a good look at some of the gameplay players can expect in the remake. We see Mario speeding around various levels to collect keys, treasures and the Mini Mario toys. Mini Marios are quite popular in the Mario Vs Donkey Kong series. They are miniature versions of Mario that feature a mechanical design and are used to perform various tasks across each level. Mario must also save a set number of Mini Mario toys in each level.

The entire plot for Mario Vs Donkey Kong revolves around these Mini Mario toys. Donkey Kong, who was still originally a villain back in the Game Boy Advance days, wanted to buy a Mini Mario toy only to discover they were all sold out. In a fit of rage, as crazed apes do, he goes on a rampage and steals all the toys from the Toad factory where they are being built. Mario then sets off to take them back while also teaching Donkey Kong a lesson not to steal.

Nintendo says that Mario Vs Donkey Kong will feature over 130 levels. This is up from the original 96 levels in the Game Boy Advance version. Of course, these new levels are built from the ground up for the remake and come in both single-player and co-op form. In the trailer, we get a quick glimpse at a co-op level as Mario and Toad work together to complete the puzzle.
