Tekken 8 Details Season 1 Content Including Next DLC Fighter Lidia

Bandai Namco Entertainment has detailed the summer content coming to Tekken 8 season 1 which includes DLC fighter Lidia Sobieska, who made her first appearance in Tekken 7 as a downloadable character as well. Fans can also look forward to a handful of free updates including a new stage, Photo Mode and more.

The latest seasonal update trailer for Tekken 8 details all the new content coming to the game this summer. The first thing mentioned is a battle balance update, which seemingly tweaks and rebalances the abilities and combat of certain fighters like Panda, Leroy Smith, Zafina and Bryan Fury, among others. A free update coming this summer also adds the Seaside Resort stage. The highly requested Photo Mode will also arrive in the coming months.

A new chapter for the main story of Tekken 8 will also release to further expand the narrative from the base game. The trailer ends with a teaser for Lidia Sobieska, a character who joined the Tekken roster as the final DLC fighter for Tekken 7. Bandai Namco didn’t reveal when she will be available, though players will be able to play through her character story before deciding whether they want to purchase her or not. Those who bought season 1 will receive Lidia at launch.

The first DLC fighter for Tekken 8 was Eddy Gordo who launched earlier this year. Bandai Namco is leaving two more spots open for the mystery DLC characters coming in Autumn and Winter. Three months ago, the DLC characters were apparently datamined, revealing Lidia as one of them (this gives the leak some credibility since she’s now been confirmed). The other two fighters mentioned were Marduk and Fahkumram.

Fans are divided on the news as they feel like Lidia should’ve been part of Tekken 8‘s base roster. It’s hard to argue with that since Tekken 8 added Leroy Smith to the base roster, who was originally a downloadable character for Tekken 7 too.

Tekken 8 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Watch the Season 1 update trailer below:
