Observer: System Redux is a “Remaster” for Next-Gen Consoles and Sounds Like a Cash Grab

One thing that we are clearly not leaving behind this generation is cheap cash-grab remastered games. Bloober Team has announced a “remaster” of its cyberpunk thriller game “Observer” called “Observer: System Redux ” for next-gen hardware and no one needs it or asked for it. The original game is just over two years old yet the studio plans on re-releasing the game on next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X for the full price tag.

The studio claims that Observer: System Redux will feature some new story elements, enhanced gameplay and “next-gen” graphics but in all honesty, the game looks the same as it did on current-gen hardware. It just all feels like a way to make a quick buck out of gamers by slapping “next-gen” on a video and offering “visual enhancements” which should have been ported across to the new consoles and updated in with a patch.

While Bloober Team has not confirmed whether or not this is a specific new version of the game, the wording in the YouTube trailer’s description gives us the assumption that it is indeed a re-release of the 2017 game;

Hopefully, with backwards compatibility available on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, more developer patch upgrades into their games and don’t try pull of what Bloober Team are doing.
