Outriders is now available to pre-load across Xbox and PlayStation including PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The pre-load option should now be available starting in the Eastern hemisphere with North America and the Western hemisphere to follow.

If you are on Xbox, Outriders can be downloaded through the Xbox App (the non-beta version). The game comes in different sizes depending on the platform. PS4 is the biggest when it comes to the Outriders file size with PS5 being the smallest.

Pre-loading the game on PlayStation can be done by navigating to your library on either PS5 or PS4 and starting the download. On Xbox, users need to use the Xbox App and search for Outriders. Here they will find an option to download the game remotely to their Xbox One or Xbox Series X.

As for the Outriders day one update, People Can Fly claim the hefty patch fixes loads of bugs, improves performance and fixes that horrendous camera shake issue during cutscenes. The patch comes in at 20-24GB on PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S and varies depending on the platform. The official Outriders day one update notes read:

• Many bug fixes and improvements, with a particular focus on the latter sections of the game.

• Performance improvements for pacing/stuttering that was observed during the demo

• Camera Smoothing improvements for cutscenes and dialogues. This should reduce the camera shake that some players are struggling with

• Cutscenes/dialogues frame rate improvements

  • PC cutscenes will have the option to choose from 30, 60, 90 and 120fps

  • Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 cutscenes will be locked to 60fps

  • Xbox One and PlayStation 4 cutscenes will remain locked to 30fps

Outrider Launch Times

So when can you jump into Outriders? According to People Can Fly, the game will go live across each platform depending on the region you are in. For the USA, Outriders will be playable from midnight EDT on 1 April 2021. That is equal to 21:00 PDT on 31 March. For the rest of the world, users can jump into the game right at midnight on 1 April 2021. The minute the game is officially “out”.

PC users will have to wait a bit longer for Outriders to be playable. It will release on 1 April at 17:00 BST / 09:00 PDT. That is 18:00 South African time on 1 April.
