There is a Sonic the Hedgehog movie currently in development but we don’t know much about is such as what Sonic actually looks like. All we have seen so far is a silhouette of everyone’s favourite hedgehog and according to that, he boasts quite a questionable look.
Yesterday an image leaked online which could be the real deal and shows what Sonic actually looks like in the upcoming film. Smaller eyes, furry and just weird-looking.

The internet, of course, made a joke of it all and the memes started coming in. A lot of them referring this new Sonic to the upcoming Genie in the live-action remake of Aladdin.

Yuji Naka, the former head of Team Sonic and lead programmer of 1991’s Sonic The Hedgehog took to Twitter to express his concern for the overall design of the character saying that a lot is wrong with it. Sonic’s hands are not meant to be made of white fur and the overall body shape is wrong and could use a lot more balance.

He did not mention anything about Sonic’s eyes which are the biggest problem right now for the character. They are way too small and destroy the nostalgic vibe that they are trying to go with.
The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film is currently being made by Paramount Pictures and hits cinemas later this year. If this is the real Sonic that has been made for the film then they are going to have a lot of fires to put out.
