Sony Completely Forgets About Old PS5 Model in New Marketing Campaign

Your phat PS5 is officially old news. Sony has kicked off its holiday season marketing campaign and the company shifted its focus to the new PS5 Slim while completely forgetting about the millions of larger PS5 consoles on the market. The campaign features some blockbuster live-action scenes set in the real world where various PlayStation franchises come to life in some rather remarkable ways.

Sony is calling the campaign “Feel it Now on PlayStation 5” and the video officially replaces the phat console with the new PS5 Slim model. At the end of the clip, we see the Slim hardware advertised alongside “verticle stand sold separately”. The video’s header image also only features the new PS5 Slim.

It is a strange move from the company given that multiple regions around the world still don’t know when the PS5 Slim will arrive. Advertising one model tells the consumer it is the only version they should look out for when purchasing a PS5 and it doesn’t help when you don’t have access to the hardware.

The “Feel it Now on PlayStation 5” campaign kicks off Sony’s holiday season marketing as the company promises retail stores will be fully stocked with consoles and the season ahead will include various specials across its first-party lineup.
