South African Created Chappie in Apex Legends Could Happen

Last week, we saw the awesome Anthem prequel trailer created by South African Neill Blomkamp and it blew us away. We simply want to see more of Neill’s work as it is absolutely fantastic and now, there is a chance that Chappie in Apex Legends could happen. Everyone and their pet robot know just how big Apex Legends is and we would love nothing more to see Neill’s creation make its way into this massive and highly successful title.

For those who are unaware, Chappie was released in 2015 and was written by Neill Blomkamp and his wife, Terri Tatchell. The film was also directed by Neill and plays off in Johannesburg. The film revolves around a robot with advanced AI created by law enforcement, then captured by some gangsters who named it Chappie. Basically, it’s like South Africa’s very own Robocop and it is simply awesome.

So how does Apex Legends fit into all of this? Well, both Neill Blomkamp and Vince Zampella are keen on Chappie in Apex Legends. When asked if Chappie could join Apex Legends on Twitter, Neill replied that his down with it and the CEO of Respawn, Vince Zampella, said his down as well.

If both of them are in, there’s a very good chance that Chappie in Apex Legends might happen. Sure, Apex Legends already has Pathfinder as their not-so-friendly neighboorhood robot, but I am sure they can make some space for Chappie as well. Alternatively, a Chappie skin for Pathfinder could be cool as well.
