Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Post-Launch DLC Includes Playable Joker

Rocksteady has detailed its post-launch plans for its upcoming superhero action game, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. The rollout includes various seasons with each season themed around a different DC character. The first season, which begins in March, will include The Joker as a playable character. Rocksteady will also “incorporate alternate realities invaded by Brainiac known as Elseworlds.”

The Joker will have unique traversal abilities in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League such as using his rocket-powered umbrella to launch himself around Metropolis. Two episodes with new missions revolving around The Joker will also be included in the first season, along with new boss fights and enemy variants. Players will also receive DC villain-themed weapons and gear as well as new Riddler content, which could be related to the game’s Riddler challenges that carry over from the Batman Arkham games.

This is what you’ll get as free content in season 1 of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League:

  • The Joker as a new playable character
  • New Joker-themed playable environment
  • Two episodes with new missions, activities and strongholds
  • New boss fights and enemy variants
  • New DC villain-themed weapons and gear
  • New Riddler content

“For future Seasons 2-4, fans can look forward to three new playable characters, three new playable environments, new weapons, themed gear sets, activities, mid-season updates and more,” said Rocksteady.

Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League Post-Launch Playable The Joker

For those that remember, Marvel’s Avengers had similar post-launch plans to include additional playable characters every season. However, that support was scrapped leading to the game’s eventual server closure. Hopefully Rocksteady has taken a few notes on how to steadily roll out new content at a good pace to keep players invested. It helps that the first season’s content will be free as well, so it’s seemingly off to a good start.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League launches on 2 February 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
