Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder’s Revenge is an upcoming retro beat-’em-up developed by the same guys who worked on the pretty-awesome Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game. It has been thirty years since the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time released and Shredder’s Revenge will act as a sort of spiritual successor to the game.
Publisher Dotemu and game developer Tribute Games says that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder’s Revenge is a “classically informed side-scrolling beat-em-up directly inspired by classic TMNT games.” This means players can expect the classic four-player co-op punching and kicking in classic Konami style.

Anyone who gamed through 1989 – 1999 would be familiar with this sort of gameplay. This especially goes for players who enjoyed the original 1989 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the 1991 sequel, Turtles in Time. Ah – reminds me of the old days of going to an arcade to play games.
The gameplay trailer does a great job setting things up for players. We can see Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello beat their way through enemies including the classic Foot CLan, Bepob, and Rocksteady clans. There’s also the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tune and some teases for other characters to appear in the game.
The game’s official description reads:
With Bebop and Rocksteady amassing gizmos to support Krang and Shredder’s latest scheme, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge finds the turtles battling through a breathless tour of iconic TMNT locations to thwart their nemeses’ most diabolical plan yet. Armed with shell-shocking new abilities built on a foundation of classic brawling mechanics, the gang are in for an exhilarating, Foot Clan-stomping romp leading them through the sewers and bustling boroughs of New York City all the way to Dimension X.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is development at Montreal-based studio Tribute Games. Currently, there is no release date but the game is set to launch on unspecified consoles and PC.
