Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Pre-Orders are Being Refunded

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the upcoming vampire RPG from publisher Paradox Interactive and an unnamed developer, has been trapped in a strange limbo these past few years. Hardsuit Labs originally took on the development tasks before it was shifted to another studio, though it’s unclear how far along the anticipated sequel is right now. That might all change soon as Paradox has now confirmed that we’ll hear news about the game this September, though all pre-orders are currently being refunded.

Paradox Interactive recently provided a long overdue update on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 but it wasn’t the news fans were hoping to hear. According to the publisher, all pre-orders for both physical and digital copies will be refunded including those for the Collector’s Edition. Paradox says this is being done in order for the company to update the game’s editions and bonus content.

The statement released from Paradox Interactive regarding refunds for Bloodlines 2 reads:

“We acknowledge it was a long time ago that many of you pre-ordered Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. As development continues, we will be updating the game’s editions and bonus content, and we want to provide the best value to those of you who supported us via digital pre-order after all this time. We are thus offering refunds to anyone who has pre-ordered any edition of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. As part of this process, we are proactively refunding all pre-orders of physical products, including the Collector’s Edition. The digital versions of the First Blood Edition, Unsanctioned Edition and Blood Moon Edition remain, but can be refunded if you choose.”

Some digital versions of the game will still be open, though you’ll have the option to request a refund for those as well if you want. That said, fans also received a bit of hopeful information as Paradox plans to showcase the game this September. “We remain just as dedicated to delivering a great Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines game as we were when we announced, and are looking forward to showing you more in September this year,” said the company.

As of writing, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is still in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
