Cyberpunk 2077 is Getting a Free Trial Weekend

CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting a free trial this weekend. The trial will begin on 28 March and run until 1 April, which is perfect for the upcoming long weekend in South Africa. Players will get five hours of unrestricted gameplay in the free trial before deciding to make a purchase.

The Cyberpunk 2077 free trial will kick off on 28 March at 8AM PDT / 3PM GMT or 5PM CAT (local time) and run until 31 March at 11:59PM PDT / 1 April at 7:59AM BST / 9AM CAT. The trial will be accessible without any subscriptions or fees and progress made in those five hours will carry over to the full game, should players choose to purchase it afterwards. That should be enough time to experience a good chunk of the opening missions and prologue as well as some lite exploration in Night City.

The official description for Cyberpunk 2077 reads:

“Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world action-adventure from the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Red. Set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification, you play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. Upgraded with next-gen in mind and featuring free additional content, customize your character and playstyle as you take on jobs, build a reputation, and unlock upgrades.”

CD Projekt Red is currently working on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 alongside The Witcher 4. Some minor details about the sequel appeared in job listings posted by the company back in February such as world events potentially being worked on as well as crafting. It’s unclear if CD Projekt Red will stick to a first-person perspective for cutscenes or use more traditional third-person view points.

The free trial for Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on all platforms this weekend, so don’t miss out if you haven’t jumped into Night City yet.
