DC’s Birds of Prey Teaser Reveals Harley Quinn and More

Against popular criticism, I quite enjoyed Suicide Squad with all its cheesy bits as it still felt genuine, especially Margot Robbie’s performance as the antiheroine Harley Quinn. For those of you who haven’t been following the DC film scene and rather decided to focus your attention on the MCU (I don’t blame you), there’s an upcoming DC film called Birds of Prey in the works and it sounds kind of awesome.

The first teaser trailer for Birds of Prey has been revealed and you can view it below. It is short, as is tradition with teaser trailers. However, it does showcase the main cast in full costume, including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, sporting a new, fantastic look.

Birds of Prey will be the eight DC film will tell the story of Harley Quinn teaming up with female superheroes Huntress, Renee Montoya and Black Canary as they try to save Cassandra Cain from the crime lord Black Mask. Harley looks much happier in Birds of Prey compared to Suicide Squad.

She still has her faithful baseball bat but has a shorter haircut that just works wonderfully. Margot Robbie shared a picture of Harley’s new look on Instagram as well, which you can view below.

Simply awesome if you ask me and it will be very interesting to see what happens in Birds of Prey and how Harley’s mood changes after the events of Suicide Squad. Especially, as Harley gets emancipated from the relationship with the Joker. The film’s full title is “Birds of Prey: Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn” according to the screenwriter Christina Hodson, who told Variety that:

Emancipation means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and we’re going to be exploring that in different ways.

Birds of Prey sounds very intriguing and I, for one, am excited for its release on 7 February 2020.
