Diablo 4 Meets Billie Eilish in New Gameplay Launch Trailer

Blizzard Entertainment has released the gameplay launch trailer for its upcoming action-RPG, Diablo 4, and it might be impressive if you’re also a fan of Billie Eilish. The game is currently on track to launch early next month and the marketing has been ramping up over the past few weeks.

The gameplay launch trailer for Diablo 4 walks players through the abilities of each class as they slaughter hordes of demons on their mission to stop the daughter of Hatred, Lilith. If there’s one thing Blizzard is good at, it’s dividing players with its choices of music for trailers. The Server Slam trailer was set to the Space Jam theme song and meme’d on but now, Billie Eilish’s “You Should See Me in a Crown” is used for this trailer – and it fits like a glove on a penguin.

Odd musical choices aside, the excitement surrounding Diablo 4 has seemingly grown to scepticism since the Server Slam, where many players complained about the adjustments to classes that ended up making most of them feel weak and less fun to use – especially the Necromancer which got the short end of the stick in terms of nerfs. This wasn’t helped by Blizzard’s strange focus on the battle pass and cosmetics in its recent marketing which is leaving a sour taste in the community’s mouth ahead of the game’s release.

If you’re excited for the story of Diablo 4, Blizzard is promising players that this is “the darkest story we’ve ever told“, though it will have a lot to live up to since the first Diablo already established just how dark the series was willing to get. The crux of the plot will mainly focus on the battle between Inarius and Lilith as both reappear in Sanctuary.

Diablo 4 launches on 6 June 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the gameplay launch trailer below:
