Dragon’s Dogma 2 Character Creator Demo Available Today

During a recent Capcom Highlights stream, the company announced a new demo for Dragon’s Dogma 2, though it’s not exactly a gameplay demo. Instead, the action-RPG has received a character creator and storage, meaning players will be able to create their own custom character using the game’s creation tools and store it for use in the full game.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 features an in-depth character creator and Capcom really wants players to experiment with customising their ideal Arisen before setting off on the fantasy adventure on 22 March. The game’s director Hideaki Itsuno explained that the character creator was a specific point of interest for Capcom in an interview with IGN back in January, so it’s no surpise that it’s the highlight of a new demo, similar to the character creator released for Saints Row before launch.

The official website for Dragon’s Dogma 2 describes the character creator:

“Create your characters for Dragon’s Dogma 2 in this free tool, available now! Customise the looks of your main character, the Arisen, and the looks and inclination of your companion, your Main Pawn. The character data created in this tool can be transferred to the base game of Dragon’s Dogma 2. In this tool you can store up to 5 characters of each, the Arisen and your Main Pawn respectively.”

The character creator and storage demo for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available today on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

In related news, early previews for the game seemed to confirm that it hovers around 30FPS on consoles uncapped, though it’s possible that a future patch might rectify this issue, either improving the framerate or locking it to 30FPS. If you’re one to abuse the fast travel system in games, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will also limit the ways players can use it. You can read more about that right here.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches on 22 March 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Think I’ll just wait until the game releases and create my character and pawn.
