Elden Ring DLC Treats You to ’18 Inches of Messmer The Impaler’ Figurine

We’ve had 19 inches of Venom, now get ready for 18 inches of Messmer The Impaler. Publisher Bandai Namco recently began marketing the upcoming Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. For those unaware, the collector’s edition of the DLC includes a figurine of Messmer The Impaler, the poster boss for the expansion. In a tweet referencing Sony’s viral 19 inches of Venom post, Bandai Namco jumped in on the joke too.

“Treat yourself to 18 inches of Messmer The Impaler and more with the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Collector’s Edition,” said Bandai Namco in a recent social media post advertising the upcoming collector’s edition for Shadow of the Erdtree.

As expected, the internet’s response was very normal and reasonable.

“I can handle Messmer, not in a fight mind you but you know,” said one user. Another wrote, “Is this a challenge?”

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will deliver plenty of new content including new bosses, weapons, armour, locations, enemies and more. It’s expected to be a pretty massive expansion considering its price tag.

The official description for the DLC reads:

“The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion features an all-new story set in the Land of Shadow imbued with mystery, perilous dungeons, and new enemies, weapons and equipment. Discover uncharted territories, face formidable adversaries, and revel in the satisfying triumph of victory. Dive into the riveting interplay of characters, where drama and intrigue intertwine, that create an immersive experience to savor and enjoy.”

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree launches on 20 June 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Make sure you also check out our pre-order guide to the various editions and what you receive in each of them. The 18 inches you want is in the collector’s edition.
