Ubisoft Responds to Fan Backlash Regarding Star Wars Outlaws Jabba The Hutt Season Pass Mission

Star Wars Outlaws has all the makings of any AAAA modern video game. This means it includes a Season Pass, various high-priced game versions and even the typical “play the game early” marketing which is locked by the more-expensive game versions. However, gamers have drawn the line with a Jabba the Hutt mission which is seemingly locked in the game’s Season Pass.

It means if you don’t purchase the pricier editions of Star Wars Outlaws, you won’t be able to play this exclusive mission. The mission is called Jabba’s Gambit and is only available in the Season Pass as an “added bonus” alongside the two unannounced expansions.

Fans aren’t happy about this at all. Many of them say that the mission is already in the game and should not be locked behind a Season Pass. However, there’s also some confusion surrounding the content. Many of them believe that Jabba the Hutt as a character, is only available to meet and work with if you own the Season Pass. That isn’t the case.

Ubisoft clarified the content saying that Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are available in the game for all players to work with. They are one of the main syndicates and a key part of the Star Wars Outlaws experience. Everyone who purchases the game will have access to them.

The studio followed up by saying that The Jabba’s Gambit mission is an optional, additional mission for players to tackle if they own the Season Pass.

“The ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission is an optional, additional mission with the Hutt Cartel along Kay and Nix’s journey across the Outer Rim. This mission will be available to those who purchase the season pass or an edition of the game which includes the season pass.”

Of course, this still doesn’t help if you want to get the most of out Star Wars Outlaws without paying the R2149 for the Gold Edition. But it is good to know we’ll still get to meet Jabba and work with the creature.

Star Wars Outlaws is expected to launch on 27 August if you purchase the pricier game versions and on 30 August if you buy the standard edition. You can check out our full pre-order guide for the game here as we break down the various content locked in each version.
