Fortnite Chapter 3 Features New Island, Spider-Man and More

Fortnite Chapter 3 is hot on its way. Epic Games are concluding “The End” Chapter 2 with the climactic battle against The Cube Queen, leading to the arrival of a new island codenamed Artemis. Furthermore, new features coming includes power-sliding, web-slinging, and Spider-Man himself. This will also mark the first game to officially release with Unreal Engine 5 as Epic upgrades the engine.

Fortnite Chapter 3 will upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 in its transition, though we currently don’t know how vast these improvements will be. However, fans got a taste of the new island codenamed Artemis which features snowy landscapes, treacherous terrain and exciting secrets waiting to be found. The island is literally flipped upside down from Chapter 2’s map, which occurs during the battle with the Cube Queen.

Four locations (Greasy Grove, Loot Lake, Shifty Shafts, and Sunny Steps) will return from Chapter 1, with Butter Barn presumably staying from Chapter 2. The biggest new location is the Daily Bugle, which fans may recognize from Spider-Man, who will also be joining the game. Two new features will be power-sliding and web-slinging, which was definitely introduced as a tie-in to Spider-Man. This will give players more vertically and mobility during combat.

Finally, Fortnite is adding the ability for groups of players to build camps where they can heal up and even store weapons between matches. This first season of Chapter 3 will also introduce the Victory Crown, an item that you can keep and wear proudly if you have a consecutive winning streak of Victory Royales. Did we also mention that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will be joining the story as a new character?

All of these new features and changes aim to shake up the Battle Royale formula, and it will be interesting to see how players react and utilise all of them. The Battle Pass is also available right now to purchase.
