As of 21 January 2024, all collaborative Monster Hunter Rise DLC for Sonic the Hedgehog, Sengan-en and Universal Studios Japan will become permanently unavailable to redownload – regardless of whether you own it or not.
In a post made on X (formerly known as Twitter), the official Monster Hunter account strongly advised all players download the content packs as soon as possible or face losing their digital valuables forever.

The exact reasoning behind the delisting isn’t specified, although the simplest explanation likely involves licensing deals coming to an end between Capcom and the various collaboration partners.
Earlier in the year, Monster Hunter Rise’s expansion, Sunbreak, nabbed the Grand Prize and an Excellence Award at the annual Japan Game Awards, with the Best Sales Award going to Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet.
Originally released for the Nintendo Switch in 2021 before making the jump to PC and other consoles within the following two years, Monster Hunter Rise is the sixth instalment in the long-running and legendary Capcom franchise.
In other Capcom-related news, the release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2 was recently announced during a livestreamed product showcase.
