Latest Bloodborne Remaster Rumour Sparks Debates Online

From Software may be hard at work on Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon and the Elden Ring expansion right now but fans are still clutching onto hopes that a PS5 remaster and/or PC port of Bloodborne is in the works. A new rumour about a Bloodborne remaster has been making the rounds online from an unlikely source: David Jaffe, the creator of God of War, who claims to have heard from one of his sources that it might be announced soon, potentially at the next PlayStation showcase. This sparked some debate online, specifically with another community member.

Speaking on his YouTube podcast, Jaffe made several claims about what fans can expect at the rumoured PlayStation Showcase. He first mentions Metal Gear Solid, which was already the subject of another report earlier this week. However, he added that he’s heard of a Bloodborne remaster being in development for quite some time though is unsure when Sony will announce it, though speculates that it could be revealed soon.

Jaffe’s claims were quickly contested by prominent From Software modder Lance McDonald, who posted in a tweet:

“It’s so sad to see David Jaffe, the man who made God of War, has fallen so far from his place in the industry that he’s resorted to regurgitating baseless rumours he heard from content creators for clout. The dude doesn’t even have any actual inside sources anymore. Pathetic.”

After McDonald’s tweet gained traction, Jaffe responded to the creator by stating, “It’s not ‘insider knowledge’. It’s just a fucking reporter who tells me shit sometimes and she’s been right whenever she shares shit. It’s not some badge of honor or anything; she told me, said if I don’t give her name I can tell people. That’s all there is/was to it.”

Jaffe uses the defence of Bloodborne remake/remaster rumours being around long before he said anything and reiterated that he just heard the news again from a close and reputable source that it’s in development.

Regardless of which side you land on, we’ve heard this same song and dance about a Bloodborne upgrade for years now. The only thing we can say at this point is to take everything with a grain of salt until we actually see an announcement. We’re more inclined to believe that it simply isn’t happening, at least not anytime soon.
