New Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update Accidentally Unlocks Debug Menu Revealing DLC

Insomniac Games has rolled out the anticipated New Game+ update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, while fans were excited to get their second playthrough in on the game, they were surprised to see that the update accidentally unlocked the game’s debug menu leaking a list of missions which aren’t currently included in the game.

A debug menu is a set of tools used by a developer to enable various settings and even skip parts of the game for testing. They can enable infinite health, force enemy spawns and loads of other things. These menus are usually disabled for the public as they can break the game and potentially cause some harm to your system too. In this case, the latest Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update gave all players free access to the menu.

Insomniac Games has urged players not to access the menu. The developer states that fiddling around in the settings could corrupt your save data so it is best left alone. The debug menu has revealed a list of missions revolving around Beetle.

If you don’t know, Beetle is a villain in the series and also the daughter of Tombstone. Both are already featured in the game. So it seems Insomniac Games is working on DLC-themed around the character.

The new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update includes some noteworthy features including:

Hopefully the additional content they had scheduled doesn’t get delayed, having dlc locked behind a firewall until it’s available is a common practice however it makes it easy for data miners to access the files and leak them online.
