South Africans can now pick up the PS5 Slim. The slimmer console, which launched in most territories back in late 2023, has launched in SA ahead of its initial 12 April release date.
At the moment, there’s no pricing for the additional disc drive attachment but I gather it will set you back R1,999 – R2,999 when it does launch. This means you can purchase the PS5 Slim Digital Edition for R11,999 and upgrade the console to the disc model by purchasing the disc drive at a later date.
Keep in mind that the new PS5 Slim requires an additional verticle stand to be positioned upright. This stand costs R700. There are also various PS5 Slim Face Plates which are expected to launch in the future.
The news comes from the PlayStation South Africa X account which shared the update on the retail launch. The console is now available at various South African retailers and providers including BT Games, Incredible Connection, FNB, Game and Hi-Fi Corp.
