Early this month, on 5 November 2019, Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC and the game got off to a rocky start, with multiple issues from bugs to the game (or the Rockstar Launcher) unexpectedly closing. The developer did release updates to the Rockstar launcher but there are still RDR2 performance issues some gamers are suffering from.

Rockstar Games are aware that some PC gamers with specific configurations are suffering from RDR2 PC performance issues. In a lengthy post via images on Twitter, the developer explained that they are rolling out an update (should be available at the time of writing or very soon) to alleviate the stuttering issue, but they are also working with Nvidia on future updates to completely resolve the issues experienced.
Rockstar Games continues to explain that over the weekend, they worked as quickly as possible to resolve some of the issues and sincerely apologized to fans.
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#33FFF7″ class=”” size=”20″] We are aware that a small number of Red Dead Redemption 2 PC players are still experiencing some ongoing problems with the game stuttering. We believe this is due to unforeseen issues related to specific combinations of Nvidia graphics drivers, Nvidia GPU cards and certain CPU’s.
We will be rolling out an update to the game today which will address the stuttering issue alongside a host of other fixes. However, we are currently still working together with Nvidia to completely resolve the stuttering issue in a future update and it may take us up to a few days to properly test everything and ensure the next update completely solves the problem. As a show of gratitude to PC gamers playing the game, those who play RDR2 this week and through the holiday season will receive a complimentary care package in Red Dead Online.
