Spider-Man Returns to The Marvel Cinematic Universe

In August, we reported that Sony and Marvel failed to come to an agreement for Spider-Man films profit share and because of this, Spider-Man would leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even Tom Holland said that the future of Spider-Man would be different but he was still confident that great movies would be made. Sony said the “door is closed” on the situation but now, Marvel and Sony have come to an agreement.

Yes, Tom Holland as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is absolutely fantastic news especially after Spider-Man was set up as such an important part of the MCU going forward in Far From Home, but I won’t spoil that for you.

The deal bringing Spider-Man back to the MCU was reportedly signed Thursday night and has now been announced. As reported by Variety, the Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, talks about Spidey coming back to the MCU.

Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige will produce the third film in the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” series and that the film will indeed star Tom Holland as everyone’s favourite neighbourhood spider. The film, however, is still a long way off, as it is slated to release on 16 July 2021.
