The Callisto Protocol Sequel Glen Schofield

The Callisto Protocol Sequel is Already Being Considered

A sequel to the upcoming survival horror game, The Callisto Protocol, is already being considered. According to Glen Schofield, the CEO of developer Striking Distance Studios, there’s already a plan for a second game with a lot of “cool ideas” that the team wants to explore next. Considering that The Callisto Protocol isn’t even out yet, Schofield has a lot of faith in the game doing well at launch this December.

Speaking with Inverse recently, Schofield spoke about making a sequel to The Callisto Protocol. “I want to make a sequel,” he said. “This is a complete game, but there’s a lot of ideas, cool ideas, we want to do next. I always want to keep making the next big thing. Even after I finish a game, I’m already thinking [about] what’s next.”

Schofield was also asked about his opinion on the upcoming Dead Space remake being developed by EA Motive. He wished the team “the absolute best”, but added: “Honestly, if it were me, I wouldn’t remake it. I am glad for them, but I wouldn’t. I want to move on and make something new. Dead Space is my past.”

Schofield was formerly the vice president of Visceral Games, the original studio behind the Dead Space trilogy. Schofield is also credited as the creator of the Dead Space series, so hearing his insight into the remake that doesn’t have his supervision is interesting.

In related news, it will take players around 12-14 hours to beat The Callisto Protocol. The studio also addressed rumours surrounding the game possibly being delayed, quickly debunking them while also adding that it will have a 60FPS performance mode at launch.

The Callisto Protocol releases on 2 December 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
