Bloober Team has announced that the once-Xbox Series X/S exclusive, The Medium is set to launch on PS5 in September. The game was recently rated for PS5 leading many to believe that it would soon get a release date. According to the announcement trailer, PS5 owners can get their hands on the game on 3 September 2021.
Very few details have been shared into the PS5 support for The Medium at this time. However, console owners can surely look forward to DualSense support with both haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
The Medium is also getting a physical PS5 launch in certain territories which is great news for collectors. We reviewed the game earlier this year and thought it was good. While its gameplay doesn’t go anywhere exciting at times, the game offers a unique story and psychological horror direction. Read my review here.
About The Medium PS5
The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game that features innovative dual-reality gameplay. Players assume the role of Marianne, a medium gifted with several psychic abilities, as she explores the real and spirit world both separately and simultaneously to uncover a dark mystery masked by disturbing secrets, sinister spirits, and devious puzzles only a medium can solve.
Developed and published by Bloober Team and rated M for Mature, The Medium is Bloober Team’s largest and most ambitious project to date; with no loading screens and utilizing the full potential of the latest version of the Unreal Engine 4.
Akira Yamaoka, known for his work on the Silent Hill series, and Bloober Team’s Arkadiusz Reikowski collaborated on the game’s original ‘dual’ score, creating truly unique atmospheres across both worlds.
