Fallout 4 is based in Boston Massachusetts and the state was just as badly hit as other locations in the United States when the bombs dropped. The Fallout TV show, on the other hand, takes place in Los Angeles, California.
The Fallout TV show marks the second time we have seen Los Angeles explored in the series. The original Fallout game was also based in Los Angeles followed by Fallout 2 in Northern California.
