Capcom has released a new overview video for its anticipated upcoming RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2. The video is presented by none other than Ian McShane, best known for Deadwood, John Wick and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, who walks us through the game’s story, world, characters and gameplay.
It was a smart move hiring Ian McShane to narrate the overview video for Dragon’s Dogma 2 as he certainly has a commanding voice fitting for the fantasy setting of the game. McShane begins by explaining the basic story: a Dragon has seized control of the world and left a wave of terror among humans. A new hero, called the Arisen, is chosen by the Dragon after the creature rips out their beating heart. In this journey, players will venture into the land to find their stolen heart and put an end to the beast once and for all.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 places an emphasis on exploration in a massive open world where players can encounter a variety of mythical and legendary beasts to slay with their party, consisting of Pawns of all skills and sizes that can accompany you on your journey.
The official description of Dragon’s Dogma 2 reads:
“Dragon’s Dogma is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG series that challenges the players to choose their own experience – from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more. Now, in this long-awaited sequel, the deep, explorable fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 awaits. On your journey, you’ll be joined by Pawns, mysterious otherworldly beings, in an adventure so unique you will feel as if accompanied by other players while on your own adventure.”
Capcom previously explained that fast travel will be limited in the game in order for players to get further immersed in the world by travelling everywhere on foot. A demo was recently released, though it only allows players to create their custom characters ahead of launch, save them and port them over to the full game.
